Tours and Presentations

Due to the large volume of tour requests, we now offer a set tour schedule to offer guests and small groups (6 or less) the most educational experience.

Tours are given on the following dates:
1st Wednesday of every month from 10-11:15 a.m.
3rd Wednesday of every month from 1-2:15 p.m.

The Lighthouse does not accommodate walk-in tours. RSVP's are required at least two weeks in advance. If you have to cancel, please do so at least 2 days prior to your tour date.

Chicago Lighthouse Industries
Illinois Instructional Materials Center

Tour Guidelines:

  • Feel free to ask questions.
  • Do not pet or speak to the guide dogs.
  • No photography or videotaping without consent from tour guide.
    Photography and video policy: No photographs or videotaping allowed without written permission of the people being photographed. Staff of the ALS and CDC programs must approve photos taken in those areas prior to tour.
  • Visitors who arrive after the tour begins must check in with the receptionist before joining in with the tour. Late comers are not guaranteed to visit programs already toured.
  • Restrooms facilities and water fountains are located near the reception area. Please allot adequate time to use prior to the tour start time.
  • Visitors who would like more information about a specific program can schedule a time before or after the tour to meet with a program manager. Please arrange to do so before you come. Unscheduled meetings will only be accommodated with the managers consent.
