Melanie M. Hennessy serves as Vice President of Illinois Instructional Material Center.  Ms. Hennessy has an extensive financial background and over 30 years experience in planning, budgeting and directing the finance function at hospitals, physician practices, non-profit organizations, and healthcare management organizations. She has a substantial track record of process improvements in every area of responsibility, particularly in revenue enhancement and cost containment, with strong financial, business development, technology and general management qualifications. 

At The Chicago Lighthouse, she is responsible for all business plan development and implementation as it relates to new services identified and approved by the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, including project plan documentation and management, project team administrative support, and coordination of all implementation activities as defined by the project team. In her role, she supports the Executive Director with strategic financial planning and analysis for all new organization goals and initiatives.  And finally, Ms. Hennessy is responsible for financial development opportunities with respect to Federal, development, research, and foundation grants.

Ms. Hennessy is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.  She is a licensed CPA and a member of the AICPA and HFMA professional organizations.
