STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of the Research Assistant is to participate in the design, execution, and analysis of Low Vision Research projects.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Assist staff in the design, execution and evaluation of research projects, including literature reviews, surveys, data integration and analysis;
• Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity;
• Manage data collection projects, managing and entering data; learn and use technology to do these tasks more efficiently;
• Assist staff in coding and analyzing data;
• Produce written and visual materials for research reports and presentations;
• Assist staff in logistical management of the Research Department, including acquisition of supplies and inventory management;
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in health, social sciences, rehabilitation or related field preferred.
• Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must posses a strong ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate various activities to meet deadlines.
• Capacity and will to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly, under the mentorship of research staff; flexibility in responding to new research opportunities as they arise;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Access required.
