STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Manager of Youth/Seniors Program is responsible for strategically planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and improving program design, curriculum and standards for youth and senior programs. Responsible for project leadership and supervision. Participates in marketing and fundraising activities.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Identify and assist with grant writing/ funding resources for school age children, young adults and seniors;
• Develop outreach programs and services (e.g. summer camp programs) for school age children and young adults; Collaborates with Director of Children’s Program;
• Research fee structures for enrichment/workshops programs;
• Plans, implements and adapts training curriculum for use with assistive technology. Assist in developing and monitoring curriculum and instructional plans;
• Collaborates with Senior Vice President, Educational Services and Director, Children’s Program regarding curriculum for Children’s program;
• Collaborates with Program Manager, Seniors Program regarding curriculum for Seniors program;
• Plans and organizes speakers and other educational and social events;
• Evaluates program effectiveness in meeting with seniors and modifies curriculum as necessary to maximize favorable training;
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with state and private agencies, and other groups as appropriate;
• Markets program to potential clients, complete intakes, and maintain case records to track client progress and to extract statistical information for funding;
• Create defined outcomes for program;
• Collaborates with Director of Operations preparing annual budget through development of department Operational Plan;
• Identify staffing resources for programs;
• Assist in adaptive technology retail store;
• Produce materials (in large print, audio or other necessary formats) to aid in the promotion and utilization of programs;
• Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in special education or rehabilitation preferred;
• One year experience working with special needs population in early childhood or geriatric setting required;
• Two years of supervisory experience required;
• Knowledge of adaptive technology preferred;
• Excellent organizational skills required;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience with Standard office computing environment and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and database software.
• Proven abilities in problem solving and independent decision making.
